Register a private security company operating in the state.

Tip: State registration is in addition to any federal licence your company holds. Both are checked, and one does not stand in for the other.

Security clearance for a public event or gathering.

Tip: This is separate from the event permit itself — a large gathering needs both, and applying for one does not start the other.

Fire safety inspection and certification for premises.

Tip: Have the extinguishers serviced and the exits clear before the inspection. Most failed inspections fail on those two points alone.

General safety certification for a building open to the public.

Tip: Certification covers the premises as inspected. Substantial alteration afterwards means it needs to be inspected again.

Register a community vigilante or neighbourhood watch group.

Tip: Registration is what gives a group standing to work with the local government and the police. An unregistered group has no such recognition.
